India now stands in a precarious position, where the three main powers, nay deciding factors of the future, are at their peak powers: religion, poverty, and politics. While the world is busy with dealing with the pandemic COVID-19 and the kleptocrats are busy looting the general public as rightly said by the Prime Minister “aapda ko avasar me badalna Hai”, the kleptocrats have already done that and they have started to mint money out of this pandemic making the situation more diabolical and inhospitable for the Indian general public nay the “aam aadmi”. Amid all these tensions, let us have a look at the situation we are dealing with here, the Ram Mandir, and all the problems it can bring shortly.
The Pandora’s box.
On digging many historic documents and other documentaries relating to Ram Janmabhoomi agitation in Ayodhya and across the nation, one can easily make out there was a similar emotion regarding other temples of prominence importance the slogan coined and sung by the karsevaks was “Ayodhya to bas Jhanki hai Mathura Kashi Baki hai”, it looks like this was not just a rhyming slogan and the karsevaks weren’t kidding when they uttered this words. While the Supreme court gave the great land sliding verdict and a rejoicing movement for all the ram bhakts and Hindus of this nation they made sure that this verdict doesn’t become a reference point for the other claims of the temple and hence taking care of this situation they have made sure that this doesn’t repeat again and hence in Paragraph 646 of the Ayodhya verdict the court says that this judgement cannot be taken as a reference to claim other temples.
646. The evidence and arguments submitted before this Court have canvassed
four distinct legal regimes. The legal consequences of actions taken, proprietary
rights perfected, or injuries suffered in previous legal regimes can only be
enforced by this Court if they received implied or express recognition by
subsequent sovereigns. Absent such recognition, the change of sovereignty is an
act of State, and this Court cannot compel a subsequent sovereign to recognise
and remedy historical wrongs.
Above is the citation from the judgment, which could be easily found on the website of the Supreme Court. It implies that “We (the court) cannot keep indemnifying the acts of the invaders at the cost of communal amity between Hindus and Muslims of this nation”. But, the centre doesn’t seem to just get the point, none the less the fight to get the Gyanvapi and Mathura (Krishna Janmabhoomi’s) temple has begun and the sarathi this time seems to be Mr Subramanian Swami the ex-MP from the now ruling party and an excellent man who knows the law in and out. If the case is successfully admitted in the court of law, this will lead to many other claims of the temples as rightly compiled in the book called “the lost temples by Sita Ram Goel”, this will lead to mass litigation from many devoted Hindu’s to consider their plea to reclaim the lost temple.
Liberation and restoration of the Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirling Mandir is a fundamental part of the Hindu Renaissance. I hope the Muslim community will cooperate with us, the Hindus, on this and help us restore the temple

While being a devoted Hindu I would love to have all those temples reclaimed and make alternative arrangements to the mosques on those sites, as the Islamic text have umpteen number of times cited in their hadith’s and other religious sources have said that if any person or living creatures have any problem with the place of worship and the way you worship then please make suitable amendments to it, the text was so inclusive that they by saying any living creature made sure that not only humans but the animals are also included and only then shall your prayers be accepted by the almighty Allah. So, when such commandments exist in their text, then what stops them from relinquishing these sites willingly and opting for amity and religious harmony in India? If this is exactly what they have been advocating, this is the right time to get their words into action and display a mature and pragmatic side of Islam, hence repairing and whitewashing their images and past deeds.
Why do only Muslims have to sacrifice when the same maturity can be shown by the Indian Hindus? Why can’t Hindus relinquish the claim and let the mosques be the way they are?
That’s a very common and important question that has been asked by various Muslim scholars every secularists, and many other liberals. To get the right answer, we would have to revisit history and have a little understanding of the Indian social and psychological context.
We need to understand that first, the Indian society was ruled and oppressed by the Turks and other Muslim rulers. The oppression gave India its unique feature, where the sati pratha started, and the new custom of covering the faces of women started. Why do we blame the Muslim rulers for these ruthless customs? Well the answer is simple there is no mention of sati pratha in any Veda’s and Upanishads nor does this have any mention in the smritis (yes not even the infamous Manu-smriti), if a common man wants to learn how pre-Islamic culture existed, let them visit the monuments which somehow survived the wrath of the Islamic rulers, the Khajuraho temple, Ajanta Ellora caves, the stone statues of deities, none of the women had their faces covered, let alone their waists, in many of these monuments these women’s were shown bare chests, this means that we Indian never though a bare-chested woman as a taboo it was so common and the faces weren’t covered no matter who it was, when we hear the stories of mighty Sita the princess of Mithila, Mata Parvati who was strong and empowered in just about anything including the matter of whom she wanted to get married to. When we read about Draupadi, who was the epitome of women's empowerment, she never covered her face and dared to argue with the noblest of men about everything, call them mythologies if you want to, but these are windows through which one could understand the society. As if these weren’t enough we also have another example such as Gargi, the women who argued with Shankaracharya and another example where women had had a sharshatrath with Shankaracharya is very famous, her name was Bharati the wife of Madana Mishra she dares to ask the Shankaracharya about kama-shastra, this incident is less quoted while it should be because this is famous incident breaks two myths of India, one that we Indians were always shy talking about the art of seduction and sex, two that women were not allowed to read and they weren’t empowered enough.
Adi Shankaracharya travelled all around India, engaging scholars in religious debate. During one such debate, Bharati, wife of scholar Madana Mishra, attempted to defeat Adi Shankara on the topic of Kamashastra – sex. To win this debate, Adi Shankaracharya performed para kaya pravesha – enter the body of another person.
In the debate between Madana Mishra and Adi Shankara, Bharati was appointed the judge as she was a scholar herself. Madana Mishra was easily defeated in the debate by Adi Shankara.
Bharati contended that Adi Shankara had only defeated one half of Madana Mishra. To completely defeat him, Adi Shankara had to defeat his wife too.
Bharati soon realized that she could not defeat Adi Shankara in philosophy, so she turned the debate towards Kamashastra. As Adi Shankara was a Brahmachari, he did not know about sex.
Adi Shankara asked Bharati to give him a month to debate this topic with her.
Adi Shankaracharya then used his yogic powers to enter the body of Raja Amaruka, who had just died. Before entering the body of the king, he hid his physical body in a cave and asked his disciples to guard it.
For the next month, in the body of the king, Adi Shankara indulged in sexual activities and learned Kama Shastra.
A month later, he returned and defeated Bharati in the debate.
So now, when the Indian community was peacefully living their life, making theories, writing and reading books, having a prosperous connection with Mesopotamia and other developed nations. We were all happy in our world of shastra (books) and shastra (weapons), until we were invaded and ruled by foreign forces, who destroyed many temples and major sites. Killing many innocent souls, not even showing mercy on women and children, the women were taken as sex slaves, and males were either killed or taken as their slaves, sold in various countries. While the nation and the community were beginning to rise from these injuries that were given to them. Yet again they were invaded by the burtons, the Britisher's who were even brute to the indigenous and non-indigenous communities of the nation, they treated all of them alike at first then they slowly devised the divide and rule policy thus not letting the two major communities of India unite against one enemy, once India became free of all the rules and got her freedom, the liberals and secular took over and lied to the masses to save the Muslim minors from the brunt of the majorities, this became the popular opinion and gave birth to the Ganga-Jamunie Tehzeeb. This has harmed India more than anything, the Muslims started to accept the invaders as their heroes and the Hindus never got the apology they were entitled to get (remember the Germans apologized the Jews after things went to normal and there is a museum which quotes saying that the history shall never repeat, let alone they also have a holocaust remembrance day), giving them space to have the feeling of historic resentment, the govts (congress) forgot that if this resentment keeps compounding there shall be a day when the community will tolerate no more and may explode. Yet these problems were consciously left for the coming generations to deal with while they enjoyed looting and eating the morsel of the poor and managed to be in power in the name of the poor. Now, with time the community (Hindu’s) started to devise ways to be in power so that they could do the things they wanted to do, and it is this necessity which gave birth to the organizations like RSS and VHP and other right-wing Hindu fundamentalists organizations (weather a Hindu can be a fundamentalist is a topic of another day).
So, here the reason the Hindu community cannot relinquish these places of worship is that they were never given anything amicably even the history supports this, so the whole peaceful community (Hindus) have gone the offensive mode to get what they feel was right, once the Muslim community disown calling Babur, Aurangzeb as their heroes and do not publicly condemn these historic wrongs and don’t try to justify their actions this resentment will keep raising, and I am afraid there can be a day when we may see a radical action nay another big communal stifle among these two major religions in India.
What stops the Muslims from bringing Amity?
While this can be the most unpopular opinion but it has to be stated and said openly that there was a historic blunder done by the leftist historians who thought very less about the indigenous hero’s viz Birsa Munda, rather we were thought more about the Mughal oppressors and more about how they were the real hero we all should look up to while the historians always hid the black deeds of these Muslim rules creating a lovely image of these rules and hence committing a nefarious crime against both the communities, to save one they subjugated the truth and made the masses believe that the Mughals were indeed the best rulers. While the reality was diagonally opposite, This had a diverse effect on both the communities, while the Hindus belittled themselves and forgot the glorious history they had and the Muslims were proud of their history and read more and more about these historic figures and learned how these “Hero’s” subjugated their Hindu counterparts and hence they are liable to bring the glorious days back and make the nation a “Dar-UL-Islam”, making the Muslims more lethal to the masses, there are many examples to support the above statement.
So, this can be said with great conviction that the repetitive lies told by historians to save Muslims from bearing the brunt of the anger of Hindus have become a problem for all of us. And this, according to me, is the only reason that stops the Muslims from making amity among the communities.
What can be done now? Are there any options available?
There is always a way available, there is a very philosophical scene in a Bollywood movie where the protagonists ask the co-star to jump from the edge of the building and the building is about 14-16 floors, so the co-star trembles, finally the protagonist comes to his rescue and makes him jump backwards and dialogue he says is more important “I told you to jump, but never mentioned which way, so there is always a way even if you are on the verge of death”, so is there a way to this conundrum?.. if both the communities aren’t agreeing to relinquish their claim to the peace of land where their respective worship places stand? Like I said, there is always a way, and we need to dig it out. There can be many possible solutions where both the communities can be satisfied, unlike the ram Janmabhoomi case we can make such arrangement but unlike there we make sure that the mosque land allotted is near and in a prominent place of the city so the people who were actual litigants can also be kept satisfied unlike in this infamous case where the land allotted to the mosque is 25 km away from the erstwhile located mosque in Dannipur which is a small village of Ayodhya district.
